85 Years Of Service: A Milestone Worth Celebrating

As I reflect on my kids’ birthdays — each one a grand affair that often elicits a knowing eyeroll from one of my teenagers — I realize how these celebrations create lasting memories.

When we take the time to create these special moments, we give ourselves the opportunity to not only acknowledge the past and all that has been accomplished but also look ahead to what lies in front of us in the next stages of life.

This year, your cooperative turns 85. Celebrating the birthday of our electric cooperative allows us to look back at why we started serving Northern Colorado in the first place, how we’ve met our mission throughout the years, and how we’ll continue to serve our members for decades to come.

Our cooperative began its journey on October 2, 1939, at a time when many rural areas lacked essential access to electricity. The day the lights flicked on marked a significant step toward modernization and an enhanced quality of life for our community.

We also do more today than ever to add value to your membership. We provide free safety demonstrations, award scholarships, fund classroom projects, and routinely return member credits to put money back in your pocket.

Our reliability metrics are ranked nationally in the top quartile. We’re committed to providing you with the always-on power you depend on while restoring outages quickly and safely.

Your cooperative’s employee team is dedicated to providing all our members with best-in-class service. From the employees who greet you at the front desk to those you see out in the field and all the ones working behind the scenes, they live out our mission daily.
