FYI for those in the Windsor communities.Solicitor at the door? Avoid falling victim to scams. There are solicitors going door-to-door, telling local residents they are a solar company affiliated with Poudre Valley REA. According to Poudre Valley REA, they do not send people door-to-door to solicit solar assessments, they do not ask for personal identifying information, and they will never ask to see your utility bill.
Here are tips to keep in mind when answering the door:
✅ Utility companies will NEVER ask YOU to provide a copy of YOUR bill.
✅ Never give money or personal information to unverified sources.
✅ Be wary of any requests for signatures, wire transfers, or pre-payment.
✅ When in doubt, check it out. There's no harm in verifying that the solicitation is genuine.
To report fraudulent or suspicious activity, contact the Windsor Police Department at 970-674-6400. ... See MoreSee Less
