Construction & Maintenance Updates

Get updates on our construction, inspection, and maintenance projects. Find out where and when our line workers and/or contractors will be in your neighborhood.

Ensuring Your Dependable Power

You will oftentimes see our lineworkers and/or contractors in your neighborhood. Our mission is to provide you safe, reliable, affordable, and efficient energy solutions with exceptional service. To do so, we maintain our electrical system in a variety of ways.

Did you know, we have over 4,000 miles of power lines? Vegetation management programs, system inspections, and construction projects are all important aspects of maintaining our electric grid to provide you the power you can depend on.

We will only operate in our rights-of-way, depending on accessibility. If we do not have proper access, we will work with our members to gain access.

Working in Your Neighborhood

Here’s where to find information about where our PVREA and contract crews are working in your area.

Construction

Our lineworkers and/or contractor, Foothills Energy, are working on the following projects:

  • Multiple crews continue to work on installing new infrastructure for subdivisions in Windsor, Severance, Greeley, Johnstown, Berthoud, and Timnath.
  • One crew is working on a fiber make-ready job in the Livermore and Glacier View area along CR 74E.
  • One crew has begun to change out poles identified in inspections in the Glacier View area.

Broadband Fiber Installation

Crews are currently working in the Livermore, Waverly, Wellington, and Bellvue areas.

As part of our Grid Communication Improvement Project, we use a contractor, MasTec, to install fiber-optic cable on our existing overhead power lines and into our existing underground electric corridors. You may see bucket trucks and crews with boring equipment in your area as we work on this project throughout our entire service territory.

Power Pole Inspections

Power pole inspections for 2023 are estimated to begin in May. Areas will include Red Feather Lakes, Crystal Lakes, Rustic, and Manhattan.

Our contractor, Power Pole Inspections, performs these boots-on-the-ground inspections. We will send members impacted by these inspections a notice prior to work beginning.

Drone Inspections

Drone inspections for 2023 are will begin soon. Areas include Livermore, the lower Poudre Canyon, Manhattan, LaPorte, Carter Lake, and the Derby Hills areas.

Drone technology allows us to safely and efficiently look for vegetation that needs addressing along with other equipment and system needs.

Tree Trimming & Vegetation Management

Our contractor, Foothills Tree Experts, has completed work in the Kersey area and are now working in the Nunn and Rockport areas. They will be headed to Gunbarrel next.
