As we close the chapter on 2025, I am proud to reflect on a year of remarkable progress and steadfast commitment at Poudre Valley REA.
Your cooperative continues to set the standard for affordable, reliable electricity in Colorado, and last year was no exception. We achieved record-setting reliability and maintained the lowest residential electric rates in the state.
While many utilities faced double-digit rate hikes, PVREA’s residential rate changed just 5% in nearly a decade. Our careful planning and financial stewardship allowed us to hold the line on costs, ensuring stability for families and businesses.
Our team delivered a record-setting year for keeping the lights on, with reliability metrics that place us among the best in the nation.
Expanded offerings included rebates and the launch of our behind-the-meter battery program, empowering members and enhancing their energy resilience.
We returned $2 million in member credits, reinforcing the value of our cooperative model and reinvesting capital into the communities we serve.
We awarded $50,000 in scholarships and $25,000 in classroom grants, supporting pathways for future leaders.
Looking ahead, 2026 promises to be a transformative year as we continue to innovate and invest in our infrastructure and community.
PVREA will deploy another utility-scale solar project coupled with battery storage. These projects enhance grid reliability, reduce costs, and keep energy local.
We will implement a state-of-the-art microgrid in Livermore. This project helps ensure access to essential services during extreme weather and grid outages.
Our crews are undergrounding power lines in high-risk areas to mitigate wildfire threats and improve safety for our members.
As a cooperative born out of grassroots action, we recognize the importance of member involvement in shaping our future. In 2026, we will call on you to actively participate in legislative advocacy. Read more about our Cooperative Voices network here.
