A Message From Your Co-op’s President & CEO, Jeff Wadsworth

As we celebrate Co-op Month in October, I’d like to examine some of the ways each of us benefit from our membership in this cooperative.

The word “cooperative” is close to “cooperation,” meaning people working together towards a common goal – mutually benefitting one another and the larger community. That’s the essence of our cooperative spirit!

We’re here to serve you. We put your priorities first to meet and exceed your needs while adding value to your life. But what benefits do we provide you, exactly?

To add value, we function as a not-for-profit. This means we operate at-cost, charging you for the service we provide, not to make a profit. In fact, we return margins back to our membership in the form of member credits. Last month, we returned $2 million back to our members.

Our electric rate is the lowest cooperative rate in the state, and among the lowest in the region for all types of providers. We’re working hard to be good stewards of your investment in our cooperative, despite the rising cost of service we’re seeing all around us.

Concern for Community is one of the seven guiding principles for all cooperatives. Like how our wires run through our service territory, so too does our concern for community flow through all our decisions – because being a co-op means being a responsible partner and good neighbor.

We work to help our community thrive through initiatives led by our employees and local board. We recently helped support the Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed by donating funds and providing volunteer opportunities to help post-fire restoration work within the Cameron Peak burn area.

We’re proud to support local kids through our Youth Tour, Youth Camps, STEAM grants, and scholarship programs. We routinely partner with and support area foodbanks and other charitable organizations who serve our community.

As your trusted energy partner, we want to empower you to manage energy use at home and at work. There are various plans for electric rates that match your lifestyle with payment options to fit your budget. And we have a wealth of information available to you about electric products and services, energy efficiency, electrical safety education, and more.

We’re always working to improve our service to you, so we can continually add value to your life. If there are other ways we can provide additional benefits to you, and your fellow members, please let us know.

After all, we’re your local co-op. We were built by the members we serve. And we’re here for you.
