We’re on the cusp of summer! I always look forward to this time of year, as longer days mean more opportunity to gather and celebrate the fellowship between family, friends, and neighbors.
When I’m out with my family at summer events, I often find myself reflecting on how fortunate we are to call Northern Colorado home and how we positively engage with one another. I also take time to think about how your cooperative engages with you so we bring value to your life.
This summer we have a lot of meaningful and exciting things planned for you, our members. We’ll be sharing information to promote events, sponsorships, and activities throughout the summer months in this magazine and on social media. I encourage you to visit our booths and attend our events so you may engage with your cooperative. We value connecting with and learning from you as we strive to exceed your expectations.
Your co-op is rooted in the communities we serve — something we are very proud of. By participating in events like Relay for Life of Northern Colorado on June 4th, we’re actively supporting our employees, neighbors, friends, and family to better the communities we all live, work, and play in.
We are pleased to announce that later this summer we will once again host regional member events! We love engaging with our membership, and hope you’ll join us come August. Members will receive direct invitations for events in their area.
Your co-op is guided by seven cooperative principles, among them is ‘Concern for Community’. Summer events demonstrate how your co-op expresses concern for our communities, but they are not the only way you can engage with us.
We recently partnered with the Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed on an exciting project aimed at reducing flood risks as a result of the Cameron Peak Fire. To that end, we have ways you can volunteer and engage with this important cause. Learn more here.
This time of year, we also showcase the young men and women who engaged with us and received a PVREA continuing education scholarship. These students will no doubt be leaders of our communities someday, and we’re proud to support their education — another principle of your cooperative. Find scholarship recipients and information at www.pvrea.coop/scholarships.
In closing, we look forward to engaging with you all this summer. Please visit with us, share your insights, and let us know how else we can empower your community.
