On April 14 — National Lineman Appreciation Day — we pause to recognize the extraordinary dedication of those who keep our lights on — specifically your PVREA linemen.

Lineman Appreciation Day is more than just a date on our calendar. It is a moment to honor those who brave storms, scale towering poles, and work tirelessly to ensure our homes, schools, and businesses remain powered.

These are your heroes in hard hats — the individuals who embody resilience, skill, and the unwavering commitment to serve.

Being a lineman is not just a job; it is a calling. It means heading out when others seek shelter. It means working in the dead of night, in freezing rain, scorching heat, and hurricane force winds. It means sacrificing time away from family in service to others.

Their work is demanding, dangerous, and often underappreciated. But without them, the modern conveniences we take for granted — warm homes, clean water, and reliable communication — would be impossible.

At your cooperative, we understand that while linemen are the face of power, they aren’t alone in their mission. Behind every lineman in the field, there is a team of dedicated employees working to support them.

Dispatchers coordinate service calls, engineers design safe and efficient power systems, member service representatives answer urgent calls, and warehouse workers ensure crews have the materials they need. All play vital roles in our mission to serve you, our valued members.

On National Lineman Appreciation Day, please join me in taking a moment to think about those who make our daily lives possible. When you see a utility crew working in your neighborhood, know that they are not only fixing power lines but are restoring normalcy, ensuring safety, and strengthening our communities. Their work is often unseen, but the impact is undeniable.
