The same forward-looking approach guides us as our industry enters a new period of growth. And standing alongside your cooperative are the reliability organizations and regional partners addressing these developments.

The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) recently reported that projected electricity demand growth over the next decade is substantially higher than NERC’s forecast just one year ago, highlighting the need for both sufficient power generation and the infrastructure required to deliver it.

Closer to home, the Southwest Power Pool (SPP), our regional transmission organization, requested voluntary conservation efforts during periods of extreme heat and high demand this summer. These requests were not emergencies, but they illustrate how quickly the energy landscape is changing.

To face these challenges, we work alongside regional partners to plan years ahead for the generation and infrastructure needed to serve our communities now and into the future.

Growth will bring new opportunities and new demands on our electric system. By planning and coordinating with our power supplier and regional partners, we prepare for this future while maintaining the affordable, dependable service that all our members deserve.
